The Kailash Tour with the North Face of Mount Kailash offers an extraordinary spiritual journey to one of the most sacred places in the world. Mount Kailash, located in Tibet, is revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers, each of whom has a unique mythological connection to this majestic peak.

The journey typically begins in Lhasa, where pilgrims and travelers gather before heading to the sacred Mount Kailash. The primary objective of the tour is to witness the North Face of Mount Kailash, which is considered the most spiritually significant view. The north face provides the clearest and most direct perspective of the mountain, where the ice and snow gleam like an eternal flame. This view is not just about the physical beauty but also the connection to the divine that the mountain holds.

An essential part of the tour is visiting the Inner Kora, the sacred pilgrimage path around Mount Kailash. This trek spans 52 kilometers and is taken by devotees who walk in reverence, believing that completing the Kora will cleanse them of their sins and bring them closer to spiritual enlightenment. The Kora traverses a stunning landscape of high-altitude lakes, meadows, and the serene silence of the Himalayas. Many pilgrims perform the Kora barefoot, demonstrating their devotion. The journey is challenging, with altitudes reaching up to 5,600 meters (18,379 feet), but it’s deeply transformative, both physically and spiritually.

The Kailash Tour is not just a trek through the rugged terrains but a profound spiritual experience, bringing pilgrims closer to their faith and providing a chance to contemplate life’s deeper meanings. The tour offers an unmatched sense of peace and reverence, marking it as one of the most sacred and transformative pilgrimage experiences on the planet.

On this day, Inner Kora members will embark on a challenging trek from Diraphuk to Juthulpuk, passing over the Dolma La Pass. It’s important to wake up early, before dawn, have a light breakfast, and prepare for the journey ahead. This trek is considered the toughest part of our entire adventure. You will begin by climbing steeply for about four hours to reach the high point at Dolma La Pass, which is approximately 18,200 feet above sea level. After that, you’ll descend towards Gauri Kunda and then walk across a flat valley for about 2 to 3 hours. In total, the trek will take around 8 to 9 hours, making it a long and strenuous day. It’s best to cross the high pass early while the weather is nice, before the winds pick up. At the top of Dolma La, there’s a special place called Shivasthal, adorned with colorful flags and personal items left by past travelers. Many believe that offerings made here are rewarded in the afterlife according to Tibetan beliefs. Make sure to pack a lunch from the kitchen before you start your trek. After crossing the Dolma La Pass, you’ll see Gauri Kunda down the hill to your right. As you continue down, there will be a break for lunch. This part of the trail can be tricky due to loose rocks, so it’s important to be careful. Eventually, you’ll reach a flat path that leads to Zuthulpuk. For those traveling on horseback, please note that you’ll also need to walk for 2 to 3 hours while trekking down after the Dolma La Pass. Once you arrive in Zuthulpuk, you’ll find guesthouses that provide beds and blankets for your rest. Similar to your previous stop in Diraphuk, dinner will be served early, so you can relax and warm up in bed as soon as possible.
